some random TASK information

If you are like me, you farm specific areas - perhaps while questing - perhaps doing deeds - or maybe just farming materials for crafting.

I personally vendor any task items I collect under (25) and those amounts of (25)-(49) I will leave in my inventory for a day or two in order to see if I can make a full stack - and then the stacks of (50) I toss in one of my vaults.

In an effort to decide what/where/why to turn-in items, I decided to turn to wiki's http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Tasks_Bulletin_Board and then i made a quick little spreadsheet of the data. This is obviously a very, very small sample of the many, many tasks in-game - but it is what I needed at the moment. I thought I would share the information I complied in the hopes that perhaps someone else out there could also benefit. If/when I do my "next batch" of information, I will update this thread - feel free to do the same if you want.

Volume I epic quests with LIXP

I just started playing several weeks ago, and am leveling up my first main character. Did a lot of side quests, exploring, smelling the roses stuff, and let the epic quests get a little behind. I'm now playing catch-up, mainlining the epic quests and ignoring most everything else, so I can get my first Legendary Item while I am still in the 50s. But I notice that the last several quests I've done as part of vol 1, book 15 have rewards of legendary Item XP. However, I can't use LI stuff until I complete the specific quest in volume 2. What have I missed???

I've dug into the wiki, but didn't find any explanation that helped me. My guess is that I should have done something in a different order, or I am misunderstanding something, because it seems weird to be getting LIXP as the reward for quests that come before I can possibly use an LI.

A Stony Welcome - Westfold class point questline issues.

I seem completely unable to trigger this quest line.
I just finished the Woodhurst line of quests, and got my Trait Point.
I then went in search of Theoden and found the survivors, which sent me to Helm's Dike, and began a series of Helm's Dike Quests (which I have not started yet).
Can anyone tell me how I pick up this quest line?
I have searched posts, and it is unclear how to start this!

Western Rohan, get real LOTRO

I just started Western Rohan with a Minstrel, the level of hits I take from mobs increased dramatically from Eastern Rohan. My heals are less than the hits I take from the mobs. I knew before I started that Western Rohan would be more difficult, be this is ridiculous. Can't get single pulls of mounted mobs with out getting 5 adds. LOTRO need to take a serious look at the situation and make some changes to make it more survivable for players. I don't mind a bit of a challenge, but this is too much to ask of any player. The number of mobs may be realistic when the area first opened, not now. Please, review this and make the game changes, and review the hits mobs are doing to players. This had been an on going problem for areas, increase the spawn rate when an area opens for play, but never reducing it to a more realistic level later when there isn't more players playing the area.

Quest:Chapter 5, Part II: Tending the Glade

Looking for advice on this one......

I am heading into the area south of Lin Gilliath as and I am on the slope and using the elf stone...but I am having issues finding Drukordh. Reading lotro wiki I am suppsoed to power up with the stone and then wander around Hîgropor looking for him. I am having zero luck.

Anyone have any tips on where to find him...or am I missing some quest mechanic that I am not doing to trigger his appearance?

Any help appreciated.

I would like to do each chapter of the epic, but jammed up on this one.

Why is Gildor Inglorion in the North Downs

So I might be confused as to the time line, but this is what I'm getting.
In the books, Frodo meets Gildor somewhere near Woodhall as he is fleeing the Shire. Now for some reason I was thinking when you get to Vol 1 Book 3 of the Epic where you invite everyone to the council, that Frodo would be somewhere in between the time in Bree and the time in Rivendell. Am I wrong? And if I'm not wrong how in the heck can Gildor be in the North Downs when he was passing through the Shire on the way to the Gray Havens? HELP!!! :eek:

Vol 2 Epilogue: Laeglang bugged?

So I've been going through and doing the epilogue quests for Volume 2 and came across this one. It requires you to discover the location of Warg Pens and Sword Halls in Dol Guldor, along with killing a bunch of orcs. So I walked right up to location of Sword Halls and Warg Pens and nothing happens, no indication that I "discovered" them. I actually entered both instances to see if that would work, and then ran Warg Pens just for fun. No acknowledgement that I discovered these places.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there something I can try that would work? Thanks!

Unable to Access Caras Galadhon

Quest Involvement:
  • Volume II, Epilogue: Achardor's Fate
  • Volume II, Epilogue: Sigileth's Knives


I have both of these Epic Quests in my Quest Log, and am told I need to gain access to the city of Caras Galadhon. Problem is, the gate won't allow me in. I have attempted visiting the Stable Master and trying the rope to the left of the gate. The Stable Master comes up with nothing, and the rope (just like the gate) will only produce this message: Using that has no effect.

I'm at a loss as to how I can finish these quests, being locked out. Am I missing something?

I'm trying to make my own complete list of deeds, and I've use LotRO Wiki as well other websites to compile my info, but the info changes from site to site. Was wondering is anyone knows a site or an already made deed that is updated and easy to read?

Ettenmoors Region Questing Only

I understand this is a pvp zone. I'm VIP, lvl 40, at Rivendell stable master and can go to Ettenmoors as a Free Peoples. I understand there are quests there to be done. Could quests there be done in a similar fashion as pve quests, save the mobs are ai and creeps? I'd kind of like to quest there, to check out the zone, do some quests, follow the story.

Roving Threats Do they have place holder mobs?

I been running roving threat groups on my server daily. Prior to running them I take the time and find all the locations for MM, Forchel, Suri, West Gondor. The problem is that sometimes I am not able to find some of the RTs for a zone. So I go back to each location again and still no luck. One day it took 4 visits for the mob to appear.
Yes someone could be killing them But I am going back at different times of the day and I am on a very slow server. It si almost impossible to even form up a group to go do them.

So yesterday, had issues in finding mobs in multiple zones through the day. Today having same issue. I even had my character left for close to 1 hour in the spawn spot. Then all the sudden the mob showed up about 55 minutes into my hanging out and killed me at coldwell.
So are there placeholder mobs or these guys on really LONG spawn rate after they die?

Any help would be appreciated.

Stuck in Angmar

Another player and I both VIP Lvl38 went to Angmar, I wanted to do the Quest line to pass the one shot Statues that divide the map. I was only able to get the quest from the Earth-Kin and one other Fellowship quest. The Clan Hunter has a greyed out ring and won't speak with us. what am I missing ?

help with deed in "seat of the great goblin" instance please

i am doing (or rather trying to do) the deed to discover the variouse murals inside the instance. i have all but the fourth done. wiki says:

"The forth Goblin-mural can be found on the right-side walkway that opens up after returning from the pit."

but, the only door that opens up is after the big troll boss in the pit - the path that leads to a meaningless lake - and there is a mural there but it is the third and not the fourth as i have discovered this already.

i have walked and re-walked the entire instance ... HELP?!?

Wildermore Frost Grims on steroids?

Hi all <(")

I'm having trouble with the Frost Grims in Wildermore. At the moment, they're making it totally, and I mean totally, impossible for me to beat the final Wildermore instance (Final Stand). They do an absurd amount of damage to me, far more than any other creature does, and I'd be grateful for some help.

I'm a level 87 Guardian. The grims are level 85, non-signature. I'm totally fine with every other similar creature, but with these grims two at once will easily kill me and even one is a struggle.

Grateful for any suggestions posted here or messaged in-game (Guthir on Vilya).

Two questions please:

1) What is the best/fastest/easiest way to obtain "Amroth Silver Pieces"? (the ones used for bartering for essence recipes and LI titles). I have done some quesing in W.Gondor and have spent (iirc) 200 so far on 2 titles and 2 recipes, but obviously need many, many more.

2) Is there any 'useful' way to spend/get rid of "Silver Tokens of Dol Amroth"? Today I bartered for 4 essence pieces leaving me short on gold tokens but having nearly (250) of the silver ones.

bloodfish quest broken

Hi I`m trying to finish the bloodfish quest from hytbold in snowbourn. I have killed goats and ran around in the water but I don`t get a red mist. I`ve been doing this for 30 minutes now and still I still don`t get a red missed. I even tried fishing anyway but I only get other fish. am I doing something wrong? Ps; my char is a loremaster so I`m not shure if it is ok if my pet kills the goats or me but I killed 10 goats without pet and still no mist

So here I am, lvl 85, Westemnet Master of the Guild Scholar, Westemnet Master Scholar, ready to engage the vile threats in Wildermore, reviewing a few deeds I might lack to complete in Eriador, and to my surprise and astonishment I have failed to do the advanced slayer of spiders in Taradan.

DEED's - you take on what is important to do

Well I just threw a curse upon the barrow of Taradan. However, all that is of course part of the bigger image, getting Zeal, Empathy and all that is required to power up your character.

Has anyone given any thought on what deeds are more important than others? I am currently running around in the Shire, just did the Post deed, and I am imagining the Pie deed will be similar (more running around in the Shire). I guess that is very much dependent on what the deed in question gives your character, and what character you have? A Lore-Master may not need/want the same Virtues as a Champion?

Has Friend of the Wild Quest been Eliminated?

I have a lore-master friend who was attempting to get Friend of the Wild this week and activate the cosmetic pet scrolls he's saved up. He has finished Volume 1, Book 2, but Radagast does not offer the quest and a GM told him the quest had been deleted. Can this be true?

Gondor Questing

I just picked up my lvl 95 RK again to venture into Gondor for the first time. I have not gotten to 96 yet but have noticed something. I have followed the epic questline and it currently out levels me. Each city that I have been led to does not have the traditional quest hub( at least I have not found it). I have gotten a level 100 Roving Threats quest in one city and I happened upon some bounty quests on a couple boards in another city. Everything I find out levels me and by everything I mean the couple things I just mentioned. Did I miss something? The fact that the quests out level me isn't the issue ( lets face it RK's are stoopid easy) I just can't find an area to quest in before moving on to the next one. Thanks for any help.
