Eyes of the Forest

I'm trying to do this quest (Eyes of the Forest) for level 72. It is the first quest given by the ranger that you summon. I have completed the other quest which require me to kill a certain ammount of orcs or crows. But this one requires me to scout the path south of the rohirrim camp. When I go to the quest marker, it says that I have scouted the path but it doesn't update my quest log nor does the ranger say i have finished. The quest marker also disapears giving me no place to go.
Please help or tell me if im doing something wrong.
