So there is a quest titled "A Mysterious Old Man" on the edges of Fangorn Forest. The "old man" who we as the player can tell is Gandalf in disguise, tasks us to sneak into this large Goblin camp and kill the Goblin boss. As a Hunter I was able to use Silvan Shadows to sneak in, as it was difficult to kill everything to get inside as there were so many of them. I get to this tent with the boss called Zan, and it includes a huge Warg and another goblin. I was unable to kill all of them in the small space of the tent (which was surrounded by groups of goblins) and of course had to retreat.
Once I end up in the retreat circle of stones, I end up in the middle of Fangorn Forest. I walk a handful of steps forward and come across an Ent, which starts off this quest to find Merry and Pippin, which brings me to Gandalf the White who wants me to wake up the Ents for what I assume is the breaking of Isengard.
My question is, was this quest intended to be failed the first run through in order to come across this Ent and set off this quest chain? What do you guys think?
