Hi, me and 2 good mates are slowly progressing through the game as a 3 man fellowship, we don't tend to solo with these alts (2 of us have mains and play solo anyway). I remember back in the older SoA there was a lot of fellowship quests and quite a challenge to the game. You really had to make sure you had a healer tank and dps (which is what we have). We came back hoping for this challenge as a group, hopefully getting to higher content levels and completing tough deeds and gaining rare rewards on the way.
Anyway to cut to the chase, is there much we can do together that provides an actual gameplay challenge. I'm not talking about skirmishes or instances, we definitively do enough of those. I was hoping for more landscape content. I wouldn't mind instances but sort of on level ones that are linked to landscape or questing.
I bring this up now because I have been soloing through the game on my main (warden). I haven't really noticed many fellowship quest options in the landscape/ story. Especially seeing as the epic seems all solo only instances. I just went through Wyrmdelf (lvl 82 ish) and I was extremely disappointed, which led me to write this post. It is the perfect zone for a 3 man challenge, where you fight through 10 or so drakes + numerous baby drakes/ bats and then the odd buried treasure hunter from the lonelands. Sort of mini boss encounters. You are then led through to the final boss battle on the cliff (no loot btw...) Awesome content design etc but THIS WAS WAY TO EASY! I completed 5 quests and 2 deeds + killed everything no prob and that is SOLO below level! WHAT? This would be a perfect challenging zone for groups that could provide some relatively good loot and rare deeds. I did enjoy the design and I felt that by simply giving the drakes much higher morale and dps it would be a good group encounter. Surely not hard. Killing a drake with my little man seems dumb, they are HUGE!
It just really made me lose hope for anything group wise other than skirmishes, which are getting very tedious to us. So anything like what I explained in the game? If so where is it? I am very grateful for any advice thanks! PS we have tried helms deep but we want to save it till our 3 man group hits the right lvl. It seems more fitting :)
